To calculate X% of Y: Multiply Y by (X/100). For example, 20% of 100 = 100 × (20/100) = 20. Our calculator handles all percentage operations including increases and decreases.
What is markdown vs markup when calculating discounts?
Markup is added to cost to reach selling price. Markdown (discount) is subtracted from original price. For example, a 20% discount on ₹100 means final price is ₹80. They're not the same percentage when going backwards.
